Many of you know how our practice stays on the forefront of dentistry. About a year ago, I met with a dentist from the South Charlotte area, Dr. Richard Van Gurp, with whom I shared similar ideals. As my professional relationship with Dr. Van Gurp has developed, we have decided to merge our practices. We are very excited to be able to bring our holistic dental approach to the South Charlotte area. In the next few months, we will begin participating in patient care in the South Charlotte location.

A Message from Dr. Van Gurp
"My goal continues to be helping my patients be healthy. While the need for technical expertise is obvious, I place equal importance on prevention so that future dental problems are minimized.
Unfortunately, for the past 15 years, I have observed changes in the dental profession that have gone against my personal standards. I find that an increasing number of practices are focusing on procedures to repair problems with little, if any, real emphasis on what can be done to prevent these problems from occurring in the first place. Their focus is on “disease-care” and not so much “health-care”. With this becoming the trend, it is increasingly difficult to maintain a health centered dental practice.
About a year ago, I met with Dr. John Kempter with whom I shared similar ideals. In the course of our conversation, John explained how he has been able to maintain a strong health-centered dental practice. While there are similarities with Van Gurp Dentistry, Dr. Kempter’s practice is specifically a holistic dental practice.
At its core, holistic dentistry is focused on how dental health and treatment affects one’s overall health and well-being. For the patient who wants to achieve health and thus minimize their need for continual dental repair, I am convinced that research based holistic dentistry represents the best option in dentistry today.
As my professional relationship with Dr. Kempter has developed, we have decided to merge our practices. Introducing holistic dentistry into my practice gives me peace because I know that my patients will continue to receive the very best of care. The more I learn the more I believe that holistic dentistry is an untapped field whose prominence is increasing. It is the forefront of dentistry. Merging with Kempter Holistic Dentistry represents yet another move on our part to provide you with the highest level of dental care.
In the next few months, Drs. Kempter will begin participating in patient care."
