Overview

PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is made from fibrin that accelerates wound healing. It contains growth factors found naturally in your own blood that assist with tissue regeneration — and can decrease the rate of infection by up to 10 times, especially after molar extractions or during implant placement.

The process is simple: we draw a small amount of your blood — the same way as a routine blood test, usually right before your procedure while you’re getting numb — and spin it in a centrifuge, which separates it into three layers. The PRF layer is then processed chairside into a concentrated healing material used right in your treatment.

FAQ

Frequently Ask Questions

Answers to a few common questions about this treatment.

PRF is made from your own blood, concentrated to capture the growth factors that accelerate tissue regeneration and healing.

Most often after molar extractions or during implant placement, but also for guided bone regeneration, cavitations, and pulp regeneration.

Faster healing, less pain, decreased swelling, accelerated healing of bone to dental implants, improved strength of bone integration, a decreased chance of dry socket, improved natural bone grafting success, and increased early blood supply to the extraction socket.
